Prosciutto and Gouda Turnovers

These Prosciutto and Gouda Turnovers are easy, fast, and delicious. Don't forget to make them for your next holiday party!

One of my favorite parts about the holiday season is trying lots of new recipes! It seems like every weekend starting in November we have different holiday and family parties to go to and that means we need to come up with lots of great appetizers and main dishes to share.

One of my favorite ingredients to use around this time of year is Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets. They are so versatile and you can use them in so many recipes – both savory and sweet! In addition to these prosciutto and Gouda turnovers, I also used them recently to make these strawberry and cream napoleons and they turned out great!

Today’s recipe is a bit of a twist on your standard ham and cheese sandwich or ham and cheese turnovers. If I am going to take these to a holiday party, I wanted to make them a little bit more fancy. That is why I used prosciutto instead of ham, and Gouda cheese instead of cheddar. This resulted in some amazing flavors and a meal that I know will be a hit for our next party!

To make these you will need a box of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets, which you can find in the refrigerated section of your local supermarket. You will start by unfolding one of the sheets completely and adding a layer of prosciutto, followed by a layer of Gouda, and finished with another layer of prosciutto.

After you have added the second layer of prosciutto, you should fold over one side so that it covers all of the filling completely. Then fold the other side over the top of that side. Then you should cut it into 2 or 3 smaller pieces.

The final step before baking is to brush the tops and sides with a lightly beaten egg.

Finally, bake the turnovers until they are golden brown and the cheese is perfectly melted.

These were so delicious that they didn’t last long at my house! I am sure that they will be popular at our next holiday party and I hope that they turn out just as delicious for you too!

I have only served this by itself, but I think it would go good with a good side salad or something similar :)
