Chocolate Banana Manjar

Ingredients

For the Manjar

  • 1 package of vanilla flavored maizena found in the Hispanic section at Walmart
  • 1 liter of Sir Bananas™ Bananamilk or you can use regular milk
  • 1 T of vanilla extract
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of sugar if you are making with the chocolate base, you might omit this for a healthier option

For the Chocolate Base

  • 15 cream filled chocolate cookies
  • 1/2 stick of butter melted

Instructions

For the Manjar

  • Start by blending 1 cup of the Sir Bananas™ Bananamilk, the maizena, the vanilla, the egg and the sugar until smooth.
  • Add the rest of the Sir Bananas™ Bananamilk to a medium sized pot with the cinnamon stick and bring to a slow boil over medium heat.
  • Once boiling, remove the cinnamon stick, add the above mixture and reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Before the mixture comes to a boil again, stir rapidly until it reaches a pudding-like consistency. At this point you can stir in raisins if desired.
  • Remove from the heat and pour into individual cups (on top of the chocolate base if using).
  • You can eat it immediately, or you can put it in the refrigerator to chill.

For the Chocolate Base

  • Crush the cream filled chocolate cookies and combine with the melted butter.
  • Stir together and press into the bottom of the cups that you are using.
