Smoked Cherry Cobbler

Ingredients

For the Topping

  • 1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 3/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter Cold
  • 1/4 Cup Coarse Sugar For putting on top

For the Filling

  • 1 Can Cherry Pie Filling 20 Oz
  • 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • Lime Zest 1 Lime
  • Orange Zest 1 Orange
  • 1/2 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar

Instructions

For the Topping

  • Combine the Flour, Sugar, Salt, Cinnamon, and Baking Powder and then cut the cold butter into the mix in a medium sized bowl until it has a sandy texture and consistency.
  • Add the sour cream and mix, being careful not to overmix.

For the Filling

  • Add all of the filling ingredients to a bowl and mix until well combined.

For the Cobbler

  • Preheat smoker to 350 Fahrenheit
  • Add the filling to a round (8 inch) baking dish. Top with the topping and then sprinkle the sugar over the top.
  • Cook for 30-45 minutes or until the topping is browned and the cherry filling starts to bubble to the top.
  • Serve immediately with whipped cream or ice cream. This can be served cool as well.
