- 1 cup black beans previously cooked
- 1/4 onion sliced
- 1 clove of garlic cut in half
- 2 tbsp pork lard
- 100 grams chorizo optional
- salt to taste
Heat up the oil or lard in a large frying pan over medium heat. If you are going to make the version with chorizo, fry it until well cooked and then set aside.
In the same frying pan, saute the onion together with the garlic until the onion is translucent and you can start to smell the garlic. Then remove them from the frying pan and set aside.
Add the beans to the pan and after about a minute, you will want to mash them. Now you will add the chorizo, onions and garlic back to the pan with the beans and add salt to taste.
Once everything is combined, let the beans cook for about 10 minutes, stirring them constantly with a wooden spoon so that they don't burn. Once they have your desired consistency you will remove them from the heat and serve as a dish with tortilla chips, queso fresco, or tortillas.
