Finding Peace and Hope Through Trials

During this Easter season, I like to reflect on the important people in my life and how they have made me who I am. For example, my three little boys have taught me so much about forgiveness and love. My husband has taught me about the power of prayer and how it can help in any moment.

My mother-in-law is an amazing example of compassion and is always willing and ready to give service to others. Lastly, when I think of having constant hope, faith, and peace, I think of my mother.

My mom is a shining example of all of the characteristics that I have mentioned so far. I have always looked up to her and consider her more than just a mom – she is friend and an example of the type of person that I always strive to be.

My mom hasn’t had an easy life. She has gone through many trials in her life but I don’t remember ever hearing her complain when I was growing up. Although I am sure that my siblings and I didn’t grow up in the greatest situation, I really never noticed. My mom was always working hard to make sure that we had everything that we needed. She was always there when I was growing up to help me through difficult times and is still always a loving shoulder to lean on and cry on even to this day.

A few years ago my mom was going through some serious trials in her life. Instead of falling down and giving in to temptation and sorrow, she found hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ and was able to make some major changes in her life that have brought her so much happiness.

I always know that I can count on my mom to help me out when I need it and she is always looking out for other people. I am so proud to be able to call her my mom and I hope that I can always have the same kind of hope and faith that she has shown me.

All of the characteristics and principles that I have mentioned in this post – forgiveness, prayers, compassion, faith, hope and peace – are so important and can help us all find more happiness in our lives.

I am excited to be able to work together with mormon.org this Easter season to remind people about the life of Jesus Christ, the #PrinceOfPeace. To find out even more information about these principles of peace and how they can bring you joy in your life, I invite you to visit Mormon.org.
